A bill that would reallocate the 700 MHz D-Block (758-763/788-793 MHz) for use by first responders and public safety was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives, and referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce last night. Sponsored by Peter King (R-NY), the bill (H.R.5081) calls for a "Broadband for First Responder Act" that would make available more spectrum towards building an interoperable wireless public safety broadband network.
