The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will issue tomorrow its long-awaited National Broadband Plan, reported to run nearly 400 pages. Thankfully the FCC issued a 6-page executive summary today as a heads-up.
UTC will provide its members with a detailed assessment of the plan, which will include recommendations regarding spectrum for smart grids, pole attachment regulatory changes, public safety spectrum needs, smart grid consumer data privacy and other key issues.
Additionally, UTC is pleased to offer a timely Webinar on March 22 featuring the FCC's Energy and Environment Director Nick Sinai. We'll be delivering an even more detailed look at all the government policies shaping the utility sector at our Smart Grid Policy Summit on April 7 and 8. The Summit features not only Mr. Sinai but an unprecedented gathering of top officials and policymakers from all of the key state and federal agencies driving U.S. energy and utility policy.
