FCC to host Spectrum Summit, Cybersecurity Roadmap Workshop

The FCC will be hosting a Spectrum Summit tomorrow, October 21, and a workshop on the Cybersecurity Roadmap on November 5.

 

The Spectrum Summit will focus on the mobile broadband crunch and share policy solutions to meeting this spectrum demand. Speakers include the FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, U.S. CTO Aneesh Chopra, FCC Commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker as well as the FCC's Ruth Milkman, Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Julius Knapp, Chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology. Industry representatives include Qualcomm, T-Mobile, Cisco, Dell and Intel.

 

The workshop on the cybersecurity roadmap seeks to identify critical security threats to the communications infrastructure and it's end-users. Per the recommendations of the National Broadband Plan, the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau with use input from this workshop  to develop a plan to address these critical threats.
